Installation: Connection Quality Test

Using our Spiio Live mobile Application to render the connection quality of a Sensor

Before Beginning the Installation of your new or relocated Spiio Sensor, it is highly suggested you perform a general location connection quality test to verify the connection strength of the sensor in the decided location!

Using a Sensor and the Spiio Live App on your mobile phone:

  1. Open your Settings Panel

  1. Select "Location Quality Test"

Proceed by following the Instructions prompted by the mobile app:

  1. Scan the Sensor
    After pressing continue you will be asked to scan the QR code off the sensor

  • Head to first test location
    Testing multiple locations will give you a better picture

  • Place Sensor on ground level
    Sensor should be as close as possible to the installation location

  • Start Sensor by removing the magnet

    Remove magnet to start the sensor. Wait for white blinks followed by green blinks

  • Check Location quality
    Rendered in the mobile application screen

  • Restart Sensor to repeat
    Apply the magnet for 30 sec and restart it to conduct another test at the same location or others.

NOTE: If any of the readings show a 'BAD' quality readings we DO NOT recommend installing in this location. As a 'BAD' quality reading above ground will have reduced signal strength when the sensor is installed.

  • Testing multiple locations of an install area.

    It is sometimes useful to take multiple points of an area, such as a golf course green to make a quadrant of signal test areas to document and find the most optimal signal strength area such as the visual below.
